Documents for use in Muscat & Oman require legalisation by the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman.

The fee is £105 per document for general powers of attorney, £60 per document for agreements and £30 per document otherwise. Documents requiring legalisation must be accompanied by a covering letter. Legalisation is expected to take 48-72 hours.

Despite the fact that Oman is now a party to the Apostille Convention the Convention has not yet been fully implemented throughout Oman and it is often the case that full consular legalisation is still insisted on.

The document to be legalised must first be certified by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office where the fee for certification is £75 per document.
